3 reasons to teach your child to golf
Introduce your child to golf this summer! They will discover life lessons, the importance of etiquette, and develop an appreciation for a lifelong sport.
It Builds “Quiet Strength” and Focus
In a world of instant gratification and screens, golf teaches patience and discipline. Every swing is a lesson in focus. At our camp, kids learn to slow down, visualize their goals, and handle both “the good and the bad” shots with a level head — skills that translate directly from the fairway to the classroom.
A Foundation of Integrity and Etiquette
Golf is one of the few sports where players are responsible for their own scores and rules. Throughout the week, we will teach nine life skills: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgment.
A Healthy, Lifelong Sport for the Whole Family
Unlike many youth sports, golf is a “lifetime game” that promotes low-impact physical activity and time outdoors. Starting at ages 7–12 allows your junior to build a “swing for life.” They will learn the rules and terminology to establish an appreciation and understanding that will grow with them. They will learn: hole, round, and tournament scoring; golf terminology; basic rules of play; and penalty types and situations.
